Lifeman Insurance sharing an experience that keeps getting better. If you are looking to do the best shopping at the cheapest prices and with a great family weekend outing in a super kid friendly environment then Michigan is for you. I will admit that Detroit going bankrupt a day before we left made us pause for a brief second, but after that second we never gave it a second thought. My 4 year old girl loves Michigan because all the malls are catered to children. We left early on Friday and arrived early enough and hit a wonderful outdoor mall called Partridge Creek.

Let me set something straight, I hate shopping so there has got to be other stuff for me to do and a Starbucks is mandatory. partridge-creekPatridge Creek is the like Don Mills Square Mall on steroids. Its nice big, modern, beautiful, it has an amazing restaurants. We ate at an upscale Mexican place that was nice. It has a splash area for kids that looks like a lot of fun. It also has something that the Michigan is Notorious of is a play area made of huge plastic rubber fruit that the kids can climb, jump off and have an amazing time. And boy did my little sweetie have the time of her life.  When ever we travel in the summer my wife and I always book a hotel with a outdoor pool so we can break up the day catch some sun and have a great time with the kids. For 70 dollars including breakfast, the hotel was spotless, clean and so friendly. We enjoyed our stay and were contemplating staying an extra day to make up for the miserable night we spent at the water park hotel which I won’t bother to name unless asked.

merry go roundThe shopping mall known as Great Lakes Crossing is where you will get the best deals ever. If your a man shopping,  I purchased a Hugo Boss Suit, in stores at Harry Rosen retailing for $1600 going for $350. I was about to purchase a $350 pair of Hugo Boss shoes for $99 but they ran out of my size.
To sum it up killer deals at this mall. For kids you can pick up pretty much everything you would pay for here at 60-70 per cent below asking.
Great Lakes is an outlet mall resembling Vaughan Mills but on Major Steroids.Remember a lot of the stuff they carry is what is coming to us a year later. Its also has a huge food court, enormous play area of rubber fruits for kids, and a huge indoor unlimited amusement park called Jeepers. For 6 bucks Joelle could go on unlimited rides and she did. It also has a huge movie theatre that we hit to see Despicable Me 2 ( BEst movie Ever) and Monsters university. Let’s just say Joelle had a wonderful Birthday Weekend and is dying to go back. We had limited time but they have an amazing high end mall called Somerset Mall, and a huge outdoor outlet called Birchrun, where I bought 3 $39 dollar Adidas running shoes that retail for $100 normally . I hope I am spelling all this out correctly. The trip is about 4 hours, but its a hectic, fun and child friendly weekend and we are already talking about going back in October.

I hope you enjoy the review, and if you are looking for great cheap shopping, drive down to Auburn Hill, Michigan. This is where we stayed and it was our base camp. If you have any questions call the Lifeman any time.
