Most of you know my regular hangout for life insurance meetings and working is Aroma Cafe located in the Rutherford Plaza but sometimes you need to mix things up. I am not gung-ho about sushi but I do enjoy my sashimi and tempura once in a blue moon. So after I exhausted all the other choices in the area I thought what the heck I’ll give MySushi a try. Well boy was I surprised, this is not your typical Sushi place its actually quite original and for a guy who does attempt to eat healthy I thought there choices were spectacular not to mention the prices were not at all out of line. You walk in pick the type of roll you want, the rolls can be self chosen or they have some amazing pics. You can choose to have it wrapped in seaweed or a brown rice wrap. Most places would charge you extra for the brown rice. Actually just to vent a little bit, I don’t get the reason why other restaurants charge for brown rice anyhow, its actually stupid and ridiculous that they impose a hefty price increase because we choose to eat healthier. Its like egg white’s, why charge more your getting less, we all know that know one separates the yolk from the white, they buy it in the carton. Getting back to MySushi all there brown rice is included which makes me especially happy. There rolls are huge, one time I ordered two and I only finished one, and with every combo they include soup and a salad. I introduced my wife to MySushi, and she went nuts too. Only negative is I am a big salad guy and I did not like there accompanied side salad nor dressing, something a little more creative tasty and original would work better. But other then that they hit it out of the park.
So if your thinking its your typical boring sushi house your dead wrong. Its worthwhile to check out plus I think that a lot of the choices are very healthy and taste absolutely great. The restaurant is very clean and modern and the staff are friendly and helpful. Its pretty good family atmosphere too and is so spacious it offers a lot of room for strollers.
