Floods in Toronto

Toronto Floods

Toronto DisasterIs it the End of Days as many whisper or was it just a stroke of bad luck that hit Toronto. No one expected the DVP to be flooded, the Go Train to be called the No Train, cars to be abandoned, including those of the very highway patrol, and business all across Toronto to be effected. I have even heard stories of water snakes coming right up from the sewer. My own father would have been stuck on that very Go Train had he taken it one hour later, where they had to rescue all passengers two at a time by dingy. We certainly can expect some serious property, business, and car insurance to go up. A lot blame the city and say we were not prepared enough, rescuing two people at a time with mini dingy’s seems like a pretty primitive method for the New York of Canada. I often speak out loud in reference to the flood in 2005 where my wife lost her car at the Promenade mall due to flash floods and I think that was hard rainfall for a couple hours can you imagine if it rained like that for a couple days. Is it so unrealistic that it could rain like that, if it did could we be seeing similar scenes as we did in New Orleans. It’s not the first time so I think hopefully next time we should be better prepared. Curious as to your thoughts and what might be some suggestions to help better protect our city from such crazy events. Be kind of cool to hear your experiences due to this unexpected event.
